Join us for this month’s Pittsburgh Banned Book Club meetup on Saturday, June 22nd from 12:00–1:30 PM at Velum Fermentation on the Southside!
In honor of Pride Month, we’re reading All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M. Johnson—a powerful memoir-manifesto exploring Black queer identity, family, and self-discovery. It’s been challenged and banned across the country, which makes it all the more vital for us to read, discuss, and celebrate.
Whether you’ve finished the book or just started, all are welcome. Expect open conversation, good beer (or kombucha, soda, or water!), and even better community. Velum is handicapped accessible through the tap room entrance.
🗓️ Date: Saturday, June 22, 2025
📍 Location: Velum Fermentation, Southside
🕛 Time: 12:00–1:30 PM
Bring a friend, bring your thoughts, and bring your banned book spirit.
Follow me on social media @ejpost for any last-minute updates or future picks. We also have an active Discord channel where we pick our next books, discuss community events, and plan non-book meet-ups, comment below if you’d like the invite. Can’t wait to see you there!
P.S. For anyone who has been following along for the local Pittsburgh business directory, I have an announcement coming shortly! Get excited!
