Ej, I am so very pleased by your extraordinary work, effort snd upkeep. You’ve done so much work. May I email you a proposal if sent to a local group, with the hopes of having a discussion with a like minded ally-you!?! I will be sending this to my contact list of allies— well done you!
Hi! Can I request to add Take Care Collective LLC to Healthcare? we are a conscientious therapy group, women-owned, queer-owned. www.takecarecollective.org
Could you add Dress for Success Pittsburgh to the Non profit list? We provide clothing and employment support to women and gender expansive people. Supportive and affirming staff.
Yes, LGBTQ+ friendly, but a history of poor labor practices (accused of unfair labor practices, including retaliation and poor management. Former employees have filed complaints with the National Labor Relations Board). If there are updates to this, or new ownership, etc. please let me know!
How do I get listed and suggest other liberal owned pet listings? My business is Pawsitive Reactions, LLC, a dog behavior consulting/training business.
Exactly like this Debby! Thanks for letting me know, and I’d be happy to add any other liberal businesses you’re aware of, pet or not. I was actually shocked at how many pet businesses were magas. Truly sad!
Wagsburgh, a pet supply store just moving from central north side to Bellevue is liberal. Many dog trainers are as well. I will tell them to get themselves listed. Also, Erin Hosfield of Kyklops Tattoo is liberal as is the shop itself, I believe, based on the signage that I see when I am there. So is Sarah Miller tattoo.
Thank you for this list! Can I submit these businesses in Carnegie: More Than Words (stationary and gifts, woman-owned) Sugar Butter Bakery (parentheses woman-owned), Woolly Bear Books (independent), Dagny’s (breakfast/lunch café, woman-owned), Eccentricities (gifts and home decor, woman-owned), King‘s Rising Salon, Antina’s Salon and Boutique,
And My Favorite Sweet Shoppe (woman-owned). All are LGBTQ plus friendly/allies.
Hey Barbara, I’d love to add some more businesses to the list (especially those in Carnegie!). I’d love if you could double check on some of those though; the last time I was in Antina’s there was a lot of pro-trump talk going on. I don’t know the owner personally, so if you have different information, I’d love to hear it. I’d much rather be wrong! I haven’t been able to find much on them either way, so I’ve only included businesses that have made their voices known one way or another. I do have Woolly Bear Books listed. Let me know what information you have, and as always, feel free to send me an email ejpostiswriting@gmail.com.
Re: Antina’s - I suspect it’s a mixed bag. They have a number of LGBTQ+ employees but I am aware the owners family does swing Trump. The other businesses I can vouch for except my favorite sweet shoppe. Not sure where they stand. (I’m the owner of More Than Words so the others I do know fairly well. And lol, I just noticed AutoCorrect changed the correct spelling of stationery.)
Another restaurant to watch out for- Off the Rails BBQ in Verona is owned by some real jagoffs. Not sure about their business practices, but the owners are absolutely Trump supporters/racists and nasty people.
SisTers for Non-Profits!
Can we add Amarah Studio and Boutique in Brookline? We are women-owned, inclusive fitness studio and women’s boutique!
You’re listed first under the Clothing and Accessories section ;)
You didn’t think I’d forget about how amazing you are, did you?

Oh, also, I believe Knotzland Bow ties is BIPOC/woman- owned.
I’d like to add Vinyl Remains (record store) on Washington Road in Mt. Lebanon please!

Maybe i missed it. But, anthos should be on this list as a place to go.
Crossed off places = Not blue?
Yup, or some kind of labor issue.
Thanks for your work. Several friends question Tazza d’Oro, historically LGBTQ+ friendly?

Thanks for this! Learned a few things…
Can we add Kards Unlimited in Shadyside to the list?
May be good to have tags/symbols for why some business was crossed off, would give more context
